Looking to create avatars?  Check out these sites, they are free and easy to use.

This is a social networking that lets you play games, chat, create your own avatar...  So far, I've only use this to create my MeeWee and export it to use for my messenger client.  If you have a yahoo, gigya or outlook email, you can your export to create your email signature. Pretty Cool!

Have fun and create clay avatar and share it through twitter.  No need to sign up for an account with your email!  I've created virtual characters to use in newsletters or websites instead of photos.

I've used Voki with my students to record messages for their parents (e.g., field trip tomorrow, what they learned that day, spirit day tomorrow) The students love to create their avatars, record their voices and post them to our class blog or twitter.  It's a great way to motivate students to participate orally!

Create Puzzles Using the student's Pictures!  I learned from Celestina,  a teacher from the United States, involved in our Building Bridges global project how to use jigsawplanet.com to create an introduction activity "handshake" to present her class.

Here is what she did to create the project:
1)  Students wrote their names on paper and a fact about themselves.
2)  She took a picture of them holding their paper.
3)  She uploaded their pictures to her Diigo account, which is a social
bookmarking website.  She had them all on this list.
4)  They used the laptops and students found their picture and saved it
to that computer.
5)  Students then uploaded their pictures to this site:

6)  Once they created their puzzles, they saved them into this Google
Doc.
